In conjunction with the Hot Air Balloon rides being sponsored by the Family Week organization, MCAC presents Concert in the Park featuring Matt White and Band.

October 13-23, 2008 – During business hours and at various locations throughout the county MCAC sponsors “Showcase of the Arts”. Visual artists in our area are invited to display their work in participating businesses. The “Showcase” will be culminated with a reception for the artists and Ambassadors of MCAC at 4:00 PM on the 23rd at the Marshall County Court House gallery. Three annual awards will be presented at the reception --- Outstanding Artist, Citizen, and Educator of the Arts. (See Awards at www.marshallcountyarts.com)

November 22, 2008 – MCAC on Tour

To show our appreciation for the support of our Ambassadors and sponsors, the Arts Commission has organized a one-day bus trip to attend the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular featuring the “Rockettes” that will be presented in the Grand Old Opry House in Nashville.

December 7, 2008 - The Community Christmas Celebration, 2:30 pm at the Kenneth Shadowen Performing Arts Center.

This annual event will feature music presented by our community choir and other groups as well as a sing-a-long with the audience. Everyone is invited to participate. Admission: A donation of canned goods or money to Need Line.

April and May, 2009“Authentic Kentucky

Marshall County is noted for Tater Day and the Big Singing both authentic Kentucky traditions. To honor the musicians and artisans in our community and Kentucky, events are being planned that feature Kentuckians and Kentucky Art both performing and visual that begin with Tater Day week at the beginning of April and end with the Big Singing near the end of May.

July 11, 2009 – Terry Mike Jeffrey Concert

WCBL and MCAC jointly present this concert featuring a variety of exciting music, especially that of Elvis Presley.

Camp SmART – Sometime in July

Area children are invited to participate in a two week camp with emphasis on developing talent of one or more of the art disciplines. Children’s Theatre was the focus of the 2008 camp. The camp is directed by professional teachers.
