MCAC Award Winners

Outstanding Citizen Award 
The Outstanding Citizen Award is presented to that community member who has provided active and dynamic support to one or more facets of the arts disciplines within the community.  The recipient has demonstrated this positive support by providing his/her personal or corporate time and resources. The Arts Commission clearly recognizes the importance of citizen involvement in a vibrant arts conscious community.  The recipient will be a current resident and/or work in Marshall County. 

Outstanding Artist Award
The Outstanding Artist Award is presented to a Marshall County visual or performing artist that has demonstrated success and excellence in the creative arts field of his/her interest or expertise.  The recipient shall be a current or former Marshall County citizen and/or work within Marshall County.

Outstanding Educator Award

The Outstanding Educator Award is presented each year to that active or retired educator who has successfully incorporated the creative arts in his/her daily classroom activity or has supported and promoted the arts as an exercise of his/her supervisory or administrative position.  All public and private school teachers, supervisors and administrators may be considered for the Outstanding Educator Award.  Recipients are not confined to those nominees within the field of the creative arts and will reside and/or work in Marshall County.

If you would like to submit nominees for one or more of the awards, please email, phone, or mail any of the Board of Directors of the Arts Commission with the following information.  See the Contact Us page for our directors and their contact information.

- Your name, address, phone number, and email address.
- The person(s) you wish to nominate, the award category, and the reason you feel they should be considered for the award.
- Nominations will be accepted each year through September 30th.

Each recipient will receive a framed print of “Embracing the Arts”, the signature print of the Marshall County Arts Commission created by local photo artist, Johnnie Davis of Paper Moon Studio in Benton, KY . Each recipient’s name will be displayed on a recognition plaque that will hang in the lobby of the Children’s Art Center
